Google’s G1 searches smartphone market.

24 09 2008

Google, after much anticipation, is stepping into the smartphone market. The G1 phone will hit the market next month operating on the Google Android system and through T-Mobile’s lines, it will be priced at $180. That’s a 2-year contract with T-Mobile. Google figured one major area to beat the iPhone would be to eliminate the ridiculous touch-type square keypad, giving the G1 a retractable keyboard. New standards in 3G and wi-fi are included along with a web browser, which will probably easily adapt to Chrome when all is said and done.
