The Boy Scouts were onto something when they created their motto “Be Prepared,” because it doesn’t only apply to scouting, but business tactics as well.

Attention is a good thing, everybody and every business wants it. Attention is hard to get. It’s becoming more and more precious every day, because every day there are more choices, other businesses and new direct competition. It’s harder and harder to find people who will pay you attention.

So, before you spend money seeking attention, be sure you’re prepared to handle it. Luck, timing or whatever you’ll attribute to that good lightening strike, be prepared to bottle it.
