Travel in a time of recession.

What happens when the country goes into recession and spending en masse grows ever slower? When gas prices climb higher and destination spots grow farther away? When airlines implement gas surcharges, baggage fees and still, flights – even entire routes – get cancelled? When opting for the beachview turns to opting for the campground? Conde Nast Traveler (a mag favy of mine), hired a new PR and Communications Director. Selling subscriptions in a time of cutbacks, in a time when those cutbacks are largely luxury, in a time when online interactivity and virtual travel is at an all-time high – the opportunity for introducing a dose of reality via public relations to a magazine and audience that desperately needs it, is huge.
